*Kids (AND ADULTS) love creating with clay and a visit to Jaxpots' booth at any one of our shows provides fair-goers with the opportunity to do just that! Our customers choose to make a cup or a bowl and will work on the wheel with Jack, taking the clay from ball-form to completely shaped form. New potters learn what's involved with each step in the process. Depending on the experience of the customer, Jack will give more or less guidance in pushing, pulling and adding personal touches to the clay they work with. Each "mini lesson" takes 20-30 minutes. In addition to providing instruction and assistance, we will take photos of the artist with his or her new work then take the pot back to the studio where we'll trim it, glaze it in the customer's choice of color, fire it, package it and hand-deliver* it to the artist in 3-4 weeks. This entire experience costs only $30 ($25 each if two or more artists from the same address create a piece during the same visit). Yep. You read that right. $30.
We strongly recommend making a reservation for a time slot in advance. Just call us at (313) 319-8683 to book a time that's best for you. You are certainly welcome to visit our booth without an appointment to work on the wheel, but you may have to wait for a customer or two to finish ahead of you (Remember, each "lesson" takes 20 - 30 minutes.)
